On June 1st, 2025, South Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC) allowed qualified non – profit organizations and registered crypto exchanges to sell their held crypto assets.
On the same day, World Vision Korea sold 0.55 ETH (worth about $1396.5) on the Upbit exchange, becoming the first institution to sell crypto assets since the phased lifting of the ban on institutional crypto trading in South Korea.
The FSC plans to further allow publicly – listed companies and registered professional investors to trade crypto in the second half of 2025, which indicates a shift in South Korea’s stance towards crypto, moving away from a strict opposition to allowing crypto assets to enter the traditional financial market.
