According to a statement shared with Cryptoslate on June 4, 2025, decentralized AI company Sentient has launched an open-source chatbot, Dobby Plus, which is currently available on X and Hugging Face. Unique build and development model: Dobby Plus is built on a decentralized AI framework formed by input from more than 2 million users. It does not rely on company instructions but develops through the continuous contribution of the community, constantly improving its personality, tone and decisions to reflect common values, achieving a transformation from exclusive control to collective ownership.
Training method and advantage: Dobby uses a unique “data overload” training method, emphasizing the balanced integration of factual accuracy and emotional intelligence. This approach not only enhances technical capabilities such as mathematics and coding, but also improves soft skills like empathy and conversational nuances, enhances the model’s tone and user engagement, while maintaining performance and accuracy. Sentient disclosed that its model is currently superior to Claude, GPT-4o and Deepseek r1 in terms of personality, engagement and creativity.
Security and Transparency: The open source framework at Dobby allows for independent audits of risks such as memory manipulation and prompt injection. This is crucial as the AI community becomes increasingly concerned about security, especially when it is reported that major tech companies are scaling back on rigorous testing.
Future plans: Sentient intends to develop a protocol for collectively managing artificial intelligence systems, enabling users to become stakeholders with voting rights and profit-sharing benefits. Previously, Sentient released its 70-billion-parameter model in February, attracting over 660,000 users. Each user received an encrypted fingerprint copy of the model, establishing a new approach to open ownership that goes beyond open-source access. Sentient believes that this is an example of how the community-led model can achieve monetization fairly and transparently.
