Chengdu, Sichuan province, is set to host the Ninth China International Copyright Expo from November 23 to 25, with a groundbreaking addition to its lineup – an online metaverse exhibition. Organizers announced this innovation on Wednesday, highlighting the expo’s commitment to embracing digital advancements in the copyright industry.
The online metaverse exhibition will utilize livestreaming to showcase offline forums and activities hosted at the expo. It will also provide immersive digital copyright consumption scenarios. Wang Zhicheng, the head of the copyright management bureau at the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized that the exhibition aims to introduce fresh ideas, innovative approaches, and new paths for the transformation and development of the digital copyright industry.
In addition to the metaverse exhibition, attendees will have the opportunity to witness China’s latest achievements and cutting-edge technologies in the copyright industry. This broader scope aims to underline the nation’s commitment to technological advancements and its position as a leader in the digital copyright landscape.
Wang Zhicheng further stated that the expo will attract participants from over 20 countries and international organizations, emphasizing its global significance as a platform for sharing insights, fostering collaboration, and showcasing the latest developments in the copyright sector. This inclusive participation underlines the expo’s role as a nexus for international dialogue and cooperation in the realm of intellectual property.
