Popcat (POPCAT) is a meme-inspired cryptocurrency based on the viral “Popcat” meme, featuring a cat named Oatmeal. This Solana blockchain-based token has gained significant popularity amid the growing trend of meme-driven cryptocurrencies.
Pudgy Penguins (PENGU), also on the Solana network, is connected to the Pudgy Penguins NFT collection, which has expanded from digital collectibles to include physical products such as Pudgy Toys.
Morpho (MORPHO) is a decentralized finance (DeFi) lending protocol operating on the Base network. It aims to optimize lending and borrowing mechanisms on platforms like Aave and Compound, presenting new opportunities for DeFi users.
Market Response and Price Movements
Since Coinbase’s announcement, the three tokens have seen varying degrees of market movement. Popcat has surged by 25%, reaching a price of $0.2303. Both Morpho and Pudgy Penguins saw moderate gains, with each rising approximately 8%. However, while Morpho remains up by 5%, Pudgy Penguins has started to see a decline, currently trading at $0.01053.
Despite these fluctuations, the broader market remains cautious. Bitcoin is inching closer to the $100,000 mark, currently priced at $99,650, while Solana has rebounded, regaining the $200 level.
