On May 29th, it was reported that according to the official announcement of Upbit, in order to actively cooperate with the upcoming brand repositioning and token swap work of the EOS network, Upbit will make adjustments to related businesses. Starting from 11:00 on June 4, 2025 (Korean Standard Time), the platform will suspend the recharge and withdrawal services for EOS and IQ tokens. At the same time, six token withdrawal functions based on the EOS network, including ADD and BLACK, will also be suspended.
Not only that, the EOS/KRW and EOS/BTC trading markets will suspend trading starting from 14:00 on June 5th. It is worth noting that when trading resumes subsequently, the market names will be changed to A/KRW and A/BTC.
According to the announcement previously released by the project party, EOS will be officially renamed Volta, and its token symbol will also be changed to A accordingly, with an exchange ratio of 1:1. Volta plans to focus on the Web3 financial business sector in the future, with wealth management and payment and other sub-sectors becoming its core development directions.
Upbit stated that throughout the entire brand repositioning and token swap process, it will maintain close and efficient communication with the project team and spare no effort to ensure that the safety of users’ assets is not affected in any way. As for the specific recovery time of the relevant services, Upbit will issue a separate notice to inform users based on the progress of the project.
For users holding related assets, it is necessary to closely follow the subsequent notifications from Upbit’s official team, and make corresponding asset planning and arrangements in advance to cope with the impact brought by this business adjustment.
