Beijing, June 12 (Xinhua) — Premier Li Qiang of The State Council met with European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the afternoon of June 12. They exchanged views on China-Eu cooperation and economic development and put forward a series of important propositions.
During the meeting, Li Qiang emphasized that China looks forward to strengthening market connectivity and deepening industrial collaboration with the European side. By integrating the advantages of both sides, new impetus can be injected into the economic growth of both China and the EU. At the level of financial cooperation, China has clearly expressed its willingness to strengthen collaboration with the European Central Bank in key areas such as the reform of the international monetary system, and jointly promote the development of the global financial order in a more stable and reasonable direction.
Regarding China’s economic development plan, Li Qiang said that this year China will implement more proactive macro policies and continuously strengthen counter-cyclical adjustment efforts. By implementing diverse measures, we will fully stimulate the potential of domestic demand and boost the consumer market, give full play to the advantages of the domestic super-large-scale market and the effectiveness of the policy combination, and ensure effective response to the challenges brought about by the complex external situation. Meanwhile, China will open its door wider and wider to the outside world. It will always adopt an open and inclusive attitude to share the dividends of development and create cooperation opportunities with other countries around the world.
